1. Information We Collect

When you use Bella, we collect information you provide directly (account registration details, preferences, vault entries) and information from connected services (calendar events, email metadata, contact lists) that you explicitly authorise via OAuth2 or secure bridge connections.

We do not collect or store audio data from wake word detection. The "Hey Bella" wake word model runs entirely on-device. Audio is only transmitted to our servers after the wake word is detected and you speak a command.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalise the Bella service across all platforms
• Generate intelligence features (briefings, meeting prep, relationship scoring)
• Sync data across your connected accounts and devices
• Improve our AI models and service quality (using anonymised, aggregated data only)
• Communicate service updates, security alerts, and support responses

We never sell your personal data. We never share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Data Encryption & Security

All sensitive data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-tenant envelope encryption. OAuth tokens and credentials use a separate encryption layer. Tenant-scoped access controls are enforced at the database engine on every table to ensure strict tenant isolation.

Data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.3. Our production infrastructure runs on enterprise cloud providers operating data centres with industry-recognised security certifications.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Cached data (calendar events, email metadata) is refreshed continuously and old cache entries are pruned automatically. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent for any connected service at any time
